On Saturday I visited the Saatchi, the first floor was a little dull however, on reaching the top floor there were masses of treats to be found !
I am now completely obsessed with Stefan Kurten, photographs seem to flatten his paintings. In reality they are so wonderful, silence reminds me of the barbican conservatory and indeed, they all have that feeling of late 1960s, early 1970s suburban life. Looking out of the window of my bedroom, I realise my view is not dissimilar to one of Kurten's paintings. I choose my room for its amazing view. It looks over the entire squares gardens and at the far end is a glimpse of a block of flats, it is a bizarre mish mash but its what I enjoy most about living here.
Gardens seem to be playing a big part in my life at the moment, I'm feeling inspired by all things 70s: allotments, the good life, mike leigh films & campervans. I'm longing to spend more time outdoors painting and sewing and gardening ! Roll on summertime .
